Monday Morning Fly By: We’ve new guys

*Free Agency kicked off on Saturday and Danny Briere did a couple of things. Small things. Seems good. First up was a one-year deal to center Ryan Poehling. [Inquirer]

*Poehling’s not going to blow anyone’s socks off but he’s a solid bottom-sixer with a rather good pedigree. [BSH]

*Then the Flyers brought in dude-you-probably-hate, Garnet Hathaway. [Inquirer]

*He got a two-year deal, though. [BSH]

*Last move Danny made (so far, anyway) was to sign a depth guy primarily for the Phantoms. [NBC Sports Philly]

*The lack of big splashy moves over this weekend signals that GMDB and the Flyers’ front office as a whole are sticking with this whole “rebuilding” scheme. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Charlie’s got some analysis in the form of 10 things and a look at what we should expect next. [The Athletic]

*The James van Riemsdyk Era has come to a close, as he is now a Boston Bruins. [Inquirer]

*We saw a couple of buyouts Friday afternoon that should probably make you feel a bit better about the return for Kevin Hayes. [BSH]

*Development Camp kicked off yesterday, with a full schedule of events taking place this week. [BSH]

*Getting back on the ice meant a little reunion for Emil Andrae and new guy Helge Grans. [Inquirer]

*And finally, in case you missed it, we’ve got one word to sum up each of the ten draft picks the Flyers made last Wednesday and Thursday. They’re all pretty good. [BSH]
