You want Phil(ly) Phil(ly)?

Phil Myers notched his first career goal with 12 seconds remaining in the second period to cut Washington’s lead to 5-1. Claude Giroux followed it up, notching his seventh career twenty-goal season, to cut it to 5-2 in the third stanza’s first ten seconds. And Scott Laughton was even able to deflect an Andrew MacDonald shot to make it a 5-3 game.

But, just like the 2018-19 season as a whole, complete with a goalie switch and all, the Flyers came up short, running out of time to make their heroic comeback after sleepwalking through the first 39:48 of the game.

But they did make the third interesting, if for nothing else than our sanity. At least we got to see Myers score, and Oskar Lindblom (1 assist) start the game on the first line with Giroux and Sean Couturier and play 19:53, the highest total of his career. Yay bright side!

Anyway, listen to postgame. I had a good time recording it.
