Wednesday Morning Fly By: Time to start over

*One streak is over, but tonight the Flyers are back on the ice to try and start another one. Preferably the good kind. And since we are playing Noted Rivals™ and not-great hockey team the Detroit Red Wings, the opportunity is there for the taking. Puck drop isn’t ‘til 8. Because Rivals. Go Team.

*Before tonight’s game look back at Monday’s streak-snapper with Maddie’s ten things. [BSH]

*Brian Elliott wasn’t at his best against the Kings, but it’s important to remember that he’s been pretty kick-ass all season. He’s one of the league’s three stars again this week. [Flyers]

*So this team ended one streak and started another, which I think was a little hard on our collective psyche. It’d be nice to see this team just play consistently good hockey. How about we start that kind of streak? [Philly.com]

*A lot has been made of Claude Giroux’s move to win, but some folks don’t think that has anything to do with why he’s found his game again. [Courier-Post]

*So what do you guys think of Robert Hagg? [Courier-Post]

*Let’s close out Monday’s game with Kate’s best pics. [BSH]

*If you’ve been looking for some Morgan Frost highlights, this one’s for you. [Philly Is Flyer]

*The nerds over at the website who thought “Sudbury-Thunder Bay” was a viable location for an NHL team are here to tell us why scoring is up this season. [FiveThirtyEight]

*Michael Leighton has found himself a new home with our friends in Pittsburgh. Mazel. [ProHockeyTalk]

*And the Islanders have found themselves a new home in not-Brooklyn, which is very good for them. And now they’ll probably resign John Tavares which is annoying for all of us. [ProHockeyTalk]

*And finally, in celebration of the uh…celebrations, DGB has ranked each and every one of the NHL’s first 100 seasons. That’s impressive, folks. Enjoy it. [Sportsnet]
