Wednesday Morning Fly By: Imagine if they held out, though

*It would be wild if Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov held out, huh? Imagine that world. The blazing hot takes that would be borne from it. Anyhoo!

*The competition for that spot on the third line is definitely going to come down to rookies if you ask me and folks, that’s exciting. [Flyers]

*Mark Friedman is an interesting case, in that he seems to be the “next up” guy on defense, yet it is hard to imagine a path forward for him, given the current roster. A conundrum, if you will. [BSH]

*Jay O’Brien took a big fall on our current 25U25, and he’s got a lot to prove this year if he wants to climb back up on the organization’s depth chart. And also the 25 Under 25, which is just as important. [NBC Sports Philly]

*The Flames are in need of a depth defenseman. How do we get word to them about Robert Hagg? Letter? Skywriting plane? Singing telegram? They need to know!! [Pensburgh]

*No Flyers on this list of bounce-back candidates heading into next season, but boy are there a few guys on this team who need to get that bounce. [ProHockeyTalk]

*Choose your own adventure plugs on, with history charging closer to the present with every choice you make. [BSH]

*And finally, because it is summer and I, the author of this work, am bored, if you’re reading this and you’ve never commented on a BSH article, come on out! I want to you all to be involved in the discourse here. So show yourselves, before I come and find you.
