Tom Wilson not suspended for Brayden Schenn hit

Tom Wilson will not be suspended for his hit on Brayden Schenn the other night. Here’s the explanation from Brendan Shanahan and the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.

I appreciate Shanahan’s detailed explanation here. (I mean, damn, he basically explained how a forecheck works.) He says that boarding isn’t applicable because Schenn bears some of the onus for protecting himself, and he says that charging isn’t applicable because Wilson was clearly forechecking — not aiming to hit Schenn — for most of the time he was accelerating in the offensive zone.

While I understand Shanny’s explanation, but I’m still uncomfortable looking at this hit as a clean one. What do you think?
