“He worked out this morning, and I’m waiting to hear back from [trainer Jim McCrossin] how he made out, but he’s still up in the air. He’s doubtful, and I don’t think we will totally rule him out, but at this point he’s doubtful.”
>> John Stevens
It appearss as though the Flyers will be with the same defensive lineup they had last night, with Randy Jones on the top pairing with Ryan Parent, Matt Carle with Braydon Coburn as usual, and Andrew Alberts matched up with Ossi Vaananen.
Jones cost the team last night and he didn’t play well at all, but (I’m wishfully thinking here) maybe a second game with Parent will help the chemistry an it won’t be so bad.
Some other news this afternoon
- The Devils reactivated goalie Martin Brodeur today, while sending Scott Clemmensen down to AHL Lowell. Give Clemmensen’s outstanding play this season, the obvious move would’ve been to send Kevin Weekes down, but Weekes has to clear waivers while Clemmensen does not, so that’s the move that was made. Brodeur will be in net tomorrow night against Colorado. I’d expect Brodeur’s return to give the Devils a serious boost, which sucks since we’re finally closing the gap a bit. In Lou We Trust will no doubt have more.
- Patrick Lalime has the flu, giving the Buffalo Sabres a nightmare scenario. With Ryan Miller out of the lineup, Lalime has been thrust into the starting role. Now, unknown rookie Jhonas Enroth will more than likely make his first NHL start.
- Sidney Crosby and Ryan Whitney will both miss tonight’s Penguins game versus the Islanders.
