*Praising Dave Hakstol while Travis Sanheim sits in the press box feels icky, but to his credit he seems to be allowing his fun creative players to actually be fun and creative so far this season. [Courier-Post]

*A big part of the Flyers’ early success has been their speed. Which has almost certainly increased. [Flyers]

*Shayne Gostisbehere has been one of the players absolutely flying so far, and one has to imagine that the confidence he has in Robert Hagg is a big reason for that. [Philly.com]

*Kimmo Timonen had some pretty nice things to say about the Flyers’ young defensive corp. [Philly.com]

*Check out some of Kate Frese’s photos from Tuesday’s game. [BSH]

*So it would appear that the Flyers are starting to make some noise among the national hockey media. [ESPN]

*If the “woo” thing that seems to be happening at games annoys you, it doesn’t seem to annoy the team, who have fully embraced woo culture. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Phil Myers is doing very well up in Lehigh Valley which is very excellent news. [The Morning Call]

*Friedman’s latest 31 Thoughts, which require no enticement because you should always read them. [Sportsnet]

*And finally, Gord Downie died late Tuesday evening. You may not know him, or his music, but both he and it were inextricably linked to hockey culture in a way that no other artist has been – or probably will be – again. Rest in peace, Gordie baby. [The Hockey News]
