Thursday Morning Fly By: HAPPY HOCKEY DAY

*It’s finally here! I don’t know about you folks but I am so excited I could barf. In two weeks I will hate this team, but for today, I am so excited to have them back. In fact, I was moved to poetry. An opening night haiku:

We waited so long

For Dave Hakstol to screw up

Let’s go Flyers, woo!

*Anyhoo, our Metro Division previews end with the reigning champs, those Washington Capitals. [BSH]

*On Radko Gudas, who needs to really watch himself before he ends up becoming the next Tom Wilson. [Philly.com]

*Somehow, Jordan Weal has become the odd man out on this roster. [NBC Sports Philly]

*The Flyers forward corps is the one thing we can be confident in heading into tonight. Well, the top nine, anyway. [Flyers]

*All predictions all the time, baby! The braintrust over at NBC Sports Philly, and also John Boruk, offer up their overall predictions for the Flyers’ season. [NBC Sports Philly]

*Not a lot of respect for the Flyers in this Eastern Conference prediction extravaganza. [ProHockeyTalk]

*This prediction asks the important question: when will we see Carter Hart? [Philly.com]

*ESPN went through the trouble of predicting everything, from division winners to major awards. [ESPN]

*And because we are a full service publication here at Broad Street Hockey, we’ve got a preview of the Phantoms season as well, which kicks off this weekend. [BSH]

*And finally, kill some time before late-night hockey with a brand new episode of Flyperbole, in which they predict what the Flyers might do this year. [BSH]
