Slap Shots: Phantoms vs Wolf Pack

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms were back at home to host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Teddy Bear Toss night. It wouldn’t take long for the teddies to rain down from the stands as Chris Bigras opened up the scoring less than two minutes into regulation.

The first period was a big test for the Phantoms. Four penalty kills, including a two-minute, 5-on-3 that could’ve turned out for the worst for the home team. With four minutes left in the period, Nic Aube-Kubel capitalized on the PK, scoring shorthanded with a beauty of a finish.

The Phantoms would get late third period goals from Gerry Fitzgerald and an empty-netter from Maksim Sushko to ice the game 4-2 and send the fans at the PPL Center home happy.

They return to action on Sunday against the Hershey Bears.
