Slap Shots: Flyers vs. Maple Leafs

The Philadelphia Flyers returned home for another week of hockey at the Wells Fargo Center as they hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It was all Flyers in this one. Six goals, including five-unanswered in the third period late in regulation.

Scott Laughton opened the scoring off a great play from Kevin Hayes and the Flyers went into the third period with a 1-0 lead. In the second-half of the third, Travis Dermott would tie things up. But the Orange and Black would answer back in a big way. Travis Konecny found Claude Giroux with a behind-the-back pass for a one-timer to take a 2-1, leading to the onslaught.

Konecny added one of his own on a 2-on-1 with Giroux to take a 3-1 lead. Joel Farabee added an empty net goal, Shayne Gostisbehere blasted a rolling puck to the top shelf, and James van Riemsdyk found twine on a breakaway – all within a two-minute span.

The Flyers have now won five games in a row. They return to action on Thursday night as they host the Arizona Coyotes at home – puck drops at 7:00pm.
