Zac Rinaldo hit Sean Couturier in the head on Wednesday night. The Bruins forward will probably be suspended by the NHL for the hit, and that’ll be nice.
More concerning of course is Couturier’s status. He took an elbow to the head, and he never returned to the game on Wednesday night. We probably would have been happy had he returned to the game, but given that this is the brain we’re talking about, it’s good news to hear that the Flyers are being extremely cautious with Couturier.
Flyers were really cautious with Sean Couturier and that’s why he didn’t play after Zac Rinaldo’s hit. Not sure he’ll play next game yet.

Cautious is good. Teams usually aren’t cautious with this stuff — not as much as they should be, at least. If he has to take a few games off to make sure there are no lingering symptoms, that’s for the best.
In the meantime, let’s hope the Department of Player Safety throws the book at Zac Rinaldo.
