If you live anywhere along the northeastern corridor and have looked outside your window in the last 12 hours, the following news regarding the Flyers-Islanders game that was supposed to take place tonight in Brooklyn will likely come as little surprise to you:

Newsday’s Arthur Staple was the first to announce the cancellation, while the Courier-Post‘s Dave Isaac notes that the Flyers are using today as a practice day in the absence of a game.
This is probably for the best, as the snow falling in New York will certainly make it difficult for players and fans alike to get to the arena safely. The NHL has already cancelled multiple other games for the weekend, so this news comes as little surprise.
The Flyers’ next game will be on Monday, January 25 at home against the Bruins. Stay safe and stay warm, everyone.
