Because the past week hasn’t brought enough great news for the Flyers and their defensemen, tonight we get the news brought to us courtesy of Mikael Lancalette of TVA Sports (whose tweets, in French, are linked and loosely translated at the bottom of this post) that Flyers defensive prospect Samuel Morin left today’s game with Rimouski Oceanic in the third period after he was hit in the face with a slapshot.
(UPDATE: You can see video of the injury here.)
Morin left the game in an ambulance after the incident. The initial prognosis is … not so good.

Morin, the Flyers’ pick at No. 11 in the 2013 draft one of the team’s young defensive prospects that they have high hopes for, was sent back to Rimouski on Friday, October 3 in the team’s final round of cuts after an impressive camp. Prior to today, he had played in four games with the Oceanic so far, in which he had tallied three points (all assists).
Not a ton of details out there as of now other than what we’ve got here regarding Morin’s injury, and how much time Morin would miss with a broken jaw is unclear at this time. We’ll keep this post updated with any additional details.
