The Lehigh Valley Phantoms won again on Friday night, because that’s apparently what they do now. And defenseman Samuel Morin dragged a guy around the ice, because that’s apparently something he can do.
At the 8:29 mark of the third period, following a bit of a dust-up between the Phantoms and Rochester Americans that resulted in three other penalties, Morin dropped the gloves with Rochester’s Mike Aviani.
Aviani, a 23-year-old center who was playing in just his 17th career AHL game, weights in at just 5’11, 190 pounds. Morin is 6’6, 227 pounds. Kind of a mismatch. As you can see in the video above, Morin basically turned Aviani into a rag doll, dragging him along the ice after knocking him down with basically just one punch.
A reminder: you probably do not want to mess with Samuel Morin. Nor should you mess with the Phantoms, who at 16-7-1 are tied in points for the Atlantic Division lead.
