Ross Lonsberry, a member of the Flyers two Stanley Cup teams in the 1970s, passed away Sunday. He was 67 years old and battled with cancer for several years.
Lonsberry played a large part in helping the Flyers to the Stanley Cup in 1974 and 1975, serving under coach Fred Shero as, primarily, a defensive winger. Even in that role, he scored 32 goals for the Flyers in 1973-74. He mainly played on a line with Gary Dornhoefer and Rick MacLeish during those Stanley Cup years.
One of our Stanley Cup Champions. Rest in peace. RT @JeffMarek: Former Flyer defensive forward Ross Lonsberry has passed away at 67.

Lonsberry was a winger with the Flyers from 1972, when he was traded from Los Angeles in a seven-player deal, the largest ever in the league at the time. He left Philadelphia in 1978 after a trade to Pittsburgh and retired from hockey in 1981.
