Atlantic City was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy…

… and the economic toll the hurricane laid on the town was particularly crushing. The casino industry shut down for four days before, during and after the storm, a blow that could force layoffs and could even result in the brand new Revel resort defaulting on its massive debt. The tourism industry at the Jersey Shore will no doubt take a hit next summer as well, not to mention the thousands still homeless from the storm’s effects.

Heading to Atlantic City next weekend for some refreshing live hockey and staying in a hotel along the shore would be a great way to help support a place that desperately needs it.
