The NHL salary cap will be $71.4 million for the 2015-16 season, the league and the NHL Players’ Association jointly announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The salary floor will be $52.8 million and it’s actually quite possible that a team like the Arizona Coyotes doesn’t get there.

The Flyers do not have that worry, of course. They currently have $67,067,500 committed to 21 players for the 2015-16 season, according to CapFriendly.com. That includes defenseman Chris Pronger’s $4.9 million cap hit, seven other active defensemen, and 12 forwards. Those numbers, of course, are highly subject to change.
Teams can go 10 percent over the cap during the offseason as long as they are back in line with it by the start of the regular season.
