NHL Draft 2019 open thread: What will happen on day 2 of the draft?

Round 1 of the NHL draft is in the books, and by and large it went without incident. In fact, the only trade of the evening involved none other than your Philadelphia Flyers, who moved down three spots from No. 11 to No. 14 while picking up a second-round pick from Arizona in the process. The Flyers picked up American defenseman Cam York, the first defenseman they’ve taken in the first round since Ivan Provorov in 2015.

Anywho, the other six rounds of the draft come today. It’ll likely be a busy day for the Flyers, who are currently slated to have eight picks:

  • No. 45, second round (from Arizona in a 2019 draft-day trade)
  • No. 65, third round (from Edmonton in the Cooper Marody trade, via New Jersey)
  • No. 72, third round
  • No. 103, fourth round
  • No. 165, sixth round
  • No. 169, sixth round (from Arizona in the Jordan Weal trade)
  • No. 196, seventh round
  • No. 201, seventh round (from Montreal in a 2018 draft-day trade)/

Day 2 of the draft starts at 1:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NHL Network (and simulcasted on NHL.com) in the US. Feel free to use this thread to talk about these picks, the draft in general, or (hopefully?) anything else exciting that happens today. Enjoy!
