NHL All-Star Ballot released, six Philadelphia Flyers make the cut

The NHL All-Star Ballot is kind of silly, and really just a chance for us to argue about something that really doesn’t matter. In any event, we’re going to do just that, as here’s a list of Philadelphia Flyers players included on the ballot:

Goaltenders: Ilya Bryzgalov.

Defensemen: Chris Pronger. Kimmo Timonen.

Forwards: Danny Briere, Claude Giroux, Jaromir Jagr.

Any snubs? Hard to imagine any, really. (Honestly, my sad first instinct was to say “I can’t believe they forgot Mike Richar— oh, right.”) The Flyers actually lead the league in terms of the number of players on the ballot, tied with Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Anaheim (?), although those numbers come via NHL.com, who also wrote…

The Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks,Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and Washington Capitals also have five players on the ballot.

Did we trade Chris Pronger or something, because otherwise, that looks like six to me. They’ve since acknowledged the error.

Anyway, the voting opens on November 14. Go back to sleep, we’ll wake you up then.
