Monday Morning Fly By: Well, that was a roller coaster

*Well, friends. That was a wild weekend. We went very high to very very low in a little over 24 hours, which makes this set of links a little weird because nothing written after Friday’s win over the Rangers aged very well due to that huge embarrassing failure of a game against the Leafs Saturday night. But, links is what we do here. So we’ll go with it. First up, what we learned after what was, arguably, the best effort of the season Friday afternoon. [BSH]

*A game so well-played that it had Boruk asking if the Flyers had finally found a cure to their identity crisis. [NBC Sports Philly]

*I may have linked this before but considering that the NBC broadcast team spent an inordinate amount of time talking about the length of Provorov’s stick Friday afternoon, I think it’s worth a bump in case you never read it. Evidently, a LOT of hockey players use the wrong sized stick. It’s super interesting. [The Athletic]

*Before we get to Saturday’s mess, let’s look at some other stuff. Like how Ron Hextall isn’t at all worried about Carter Hart’s slow start to his professional career. [Philly.com]

*On Phil Myers, and the ways in which he’ll need to change his game to make the jump from AHL to NHL. [Courier-Post]

*Saturday was James van Riemsdyk’s first game back in the Six and he reflected on his time in Toronto and there are a LOT of gems in this one, folks. [The Players’ Tribune]

*And ahead of the game we took a trip down memory lane to remember a Flyers-Toronto game that is seared into the brain of everyone who saw it. [BSH]

*So about that game in Toronto…it was bad, huh? Like not really sure how it could’ve been worse. That bad. Well, here’s what we learned from a game in which the boys showed no effort, jump, or spark after going down early. [BSH]

*A game so bad that now, even the beats are asking if it is time for a change. [Philly.com]

*In his ten things, Charlie also asks about the aforementioned change but also reminds us that everything isn’t as bad as it seems. [The Athletic]

*Evidently, the Flyers are going to work real hard this week to score first. That’s nice. [Flyers]

*The NBA knows how to have fun; could the NHL maybe give this a try sometime? [Courier-Post]

*And finally, to get right to the point: when is it time to change the coach? [Hockeybuzz]
