Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Philadelphia Flyers-related news and notes…

*Allegedly the Flyers played a hockey game on Friday? Must’ve blocked it out….recaps at BSH, CSN Philly, Japer’s Rink, & Philly.com

*Saturday night the Flyers came home to the WFC and took it to Carolina. Power play goals! Something resembling defense from time to time! Giroux scored a goal! Read about the 5-3 win at The Checking Line, BSH, CSN Philly, & Flyers Faithful

*Easily the worst thing about Friday night’s loss to the Caps was the blatant elbow from John Erskine that took Wayne Simmonds out of the game. Simmer’s concussed and at this point there’s no timetable for his return. (Flyers Nation)

*Are the Flyers thinking of making a move for Jarome Iginla (and his $7 million cap hit)? (CSN Philly)

*Iginla isn’t the only option available if Homer is looking for an offensive upgrade. (Philly.com)

*We’ve seen a lot of…let’s call them “questionable” goalie interference calls so far this season, but it’s going to be hard to beat the one called on the Sens this weekend. (Puck Daddy)

*The great Bernie Parent is writing a column for Philly.com. This is NOT what you expected it to be. (BSH)
