Monday Morning Fly By: Back to real life. Finally.

*This was kind of a crappy weekend if you’re a fan of USA hockey. Friday afternoon we lost the chance to play for gold and Saturday we lost the bronze, both in exceptionally pathetic fashion.

*But hooray for Kimmo! [Flyers]

*Good news is we get to blame Dan Bylsma for the collapse. [Puck Daddy]

*Sunday, Canada beat Sweden to win their second consecutive gold medal. [SB Nation]

*Sweden was without Nicklas Backstrom for the gold medal game because he was suspended by the IIHF for use of a banned substance. This substance turned out to be the allergy medicine Zyrtec. The NHLPA is not happy with this.

*Teemu Selanne was voted by the media as the most valuable player in the Olympic tournament. [PD]

*The Flyers offered their final thoughts on the Games post-practice. [Flyers]

*Andrej Meszaros is hoping his time in Sochi will elevate his game back in Philly. [CSN Philly]

*Midterm 25 Under 25: Samuel Morin, Shayne Gostisbehere, and Scott Laughton.

*Gostisbehere is a name Flyers fans will be hearing a lot of as he works towards an appearance in the Frozen Four in Philly this spring. [Philly.com]

*Some bad news over the weekend: Marc-Andre Bourdon’s concussion symptoms have returned; he is out indefinitely. [BSH] [Inquirer]

*And finally, one final Sochi story that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside: Hockey players & puppy dogs.
