John LeClair to Be Inducted into US Hockey Hall of Fame

John LeClair is set to be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.  The other members of the 2009 inductee class include fellow former Flyer Tony Amonte, Tom Barasso, and the entire 1998 US Women’s Olympic Team.

LeClair, who was once considered one of the top handful of Americans in the NHL, was the first American (or non-Canadian) in league history to score fifty goals in three consecutive seasons.

On another note, this is about all the assurance anyone needs that LeClair has hung up the skates for good, which there had been some uncertainty about since he never formally announced his retirement.

Congrats, Johnny.  Hard to think of a player from your era who deserves it more.
