Jakub Voracek and the Make-A-Wish Foundation are teaming up this weekend to grant the wish of 11-year-old Tony Campisi of Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Campisi has a brain tumor, and his wish was simply to sit in a suite at a Flyers game. Jake and the team are going well above and beyond that, however.
Via the Flyers, here are the details on Jake and Tony’s big weekend:
Friday morning at Flyers Skate Zone
Campisi and his family will attend Flyers practice in Voorhees, NJ, where he will be greeted by Flyers General Manager Ron Hextall and President Paul Holmgren.
There are a few surprises in store for Campisi as well, but we won’t spoil them for him here. Rest assured they are awesome and we’ll surely hear more about them on Friday.
Saturday morning at Wells Fargo Center
In advance of the Flyers vs. Predators 1 p.m. game at the Wells Fargo Center, Campisi will drive to his first-ever Flyers game with Voracek and will arrive as if he were a player that day. The family will get to watch warm-ups from the Flyers penalty box, enjoy the game from Voracek’s suite, then meet-up with Voracek and the rest of the team in the locker room after the game.
Pretty awesome stuff from the Flyers, Make-A-Wish, and Jakub Voracek. We’ll be sure to share more of Tony’s story this weekend
