Introducing the Maple Street Press Flyers Annual 2011-12

Book129_medium Introducing the Maple Street Press Flyers Annual 2011-12, edited by us here at Broad Street Hockey. We’ve put together 112 pages of Flyers content, cover to cover, in the inaugural edition of this magazine, and there’s not a single ad in the entire thing.

It’s just $9.99 for the issue, which provides an in-depth look at what we’re to expect during the 2011-12 season. After an offseason like the one we’ve had here with this blessed mess of a hockey team, it’s really the perfect companion as we attempt to wade into the new season.

It’ll even look great on your shelf after you’re done reading it, and since you’re buying it before the season starts, you can say “hey, I bought this in September!” when the Flyers win the Cup this year and someone calls you a bandwagon fan.

Pre-ordering is available today via the Maple Street Press website, and the Annual will hit newsstands around the Delaware Valley on September 13. You can find it at your friendly neighborhood Barnes & Noble stores, Borders (oh wait, darn), as well as anywhere else magazines are sold.

It’ll even be in Wawa’s, too — you’ve probably seen the Phillies Annual, edited by our friends over at The Good Phight, there all summer long. If you haven’t read that one, I’d recommend it, as I would the Eagles Annual, edited by our other SB Nation’s pals at Bleeding Green Nation.

If you’re not local, don’t worry. Ordering via the MSP website is simple, and they’ll ship absolutely anywhere — looking at you, Todd — for a pretty low cost. Like we said, you can pre-order now, and the Annual will ship around the beginning of September. It’ll hit newsstands on September 13, just in time for the start of training camp.

A full table of contents after the jump.

Fit For A King: Brayden Schenn has been called one of the best prospects in the game, and now he’s a Philadelphia Flyer. A deep look at who he is and what we should expect from him. By Marcello De Feo of Flyers Faithful.

A Case Of Misunderstanding: Eric Lindros was an incredible hockey talent, but we don’t remember him as the big, bruising, scoring one-of-a-kind forward that he was. We remember him as a whiny, injury-prone crybaby, and that’s just not right. This story might just change your opinion of No. 88, because it certainly changed mine. By Eric Murtaugh, who also runs SB Nation’s Notre Dame football blog, One Foot Down.

Final Word: Another great player, Mark Howe, will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame this year. Making the case for his number to rise to rafters of the Wells Fargo Center. By Travis Hughes.
