It’ll be New York vs. New Jersey in Saturday’s Hurricane Sandy charity hockey game at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Former Flyer Todd Fedoruk tweeted the full lineups for the game on Monday, and we’re sure it’ll only be a day or two before Bobby Ryan requests a trade:
The so-called “NY Team” will play to benefit the Empire State Relief Fund. As follows:
Brad Richards – Bobby Ryan – Corey Perry
Ville Leino – Jeff Halpern – James Neal
Brian Boyle – Matt Martin – Taylor Pyatt
Dan Girardi – Steve Eminger
Marc Staal
And the so-called “Philly Team,” playing to benefit the New Jersey State Relief Fund:
Steven Stamkos – Wayne Simmonds – Dan Carcillo
Scott Hartnell – Simon Gagne – Justin Williams
David Clarkson – James van Riemsdyk – Jody Shelley
Steve Downie
Kimmo Timonen – John Carlson
Braydon Coburn – Andy Greene
I can put aside the Devils thing and root for Brodeur, Clarkson and Greene … just for a night, though. But since van Riemsdyk isn’t a Flyer anymore and he grew up rooting for the Rangers, maybe we could make the Reemer for Ryan trade that was so-long rumored between the Flyers and Ducks? After all, James is a Central Jersey guy and Bobby is a South Jersey guy.
This game is going to be awesome. Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster or the Boardwalk Hall box office (609-348-7000), but they’re running out fast and we could see a sold out crowd come Saturday night. It won’t be on TV as far as we know, so just buy a ticket already.
