And now, meet your complete Flyers defense.
Sean O’Donnell has been signed by the Flyers to a one-year deal. He’ll make $1 million plus bonuses, down from $1.25 million a year ago. If you like a guy like Ian Laperriere, you’re going to enjoy O’Donnell. He’s a grizzled, durable veteran who is really the perfect fit on the Philadelphia blueline. He’s missed just five games since 2005.
He’ll likely be the number 6 guy on that blueline, rounding out a unit that includes Chris Pronger, Kimmo Timonen, Matt Carle, Braydon Coburn, Andrej Meszaros and now O’Donnell. Oskars Bartulis will be the seventh defenseman, as expected. This also spells the end of Lukas Krajicek and likely Danny Syvret‘s days in the organization.
O’Donnell, 38, won a Cup with Pronger in 2007 with Anaheim.
