Behind Enemy Lines: Litter Box Cats
The Florida Panthers visit the Wachovia Center tonight and are desperately in need of a win. The Flyers take the ice tonight as their opponent, and most of the discussion from the Philadelphia perspective revolves around the cool wigs that will be given out, not the actual game.
The Flyers have cemented themselves in a playoff spot, more than likely the fourth spot. They have been playing with confidence and look like a very dangerous team doing so. If they lose tonight, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. After all, we beat the Devils this week.
But if Florida loses, and this probably stands for every game they have left this season, they could be losing their season. They sit just two points back of eighth place Montreal, who has a game in hand over them. They’ve lost three straight to help out with scheduling their tee times.
Simply put, and this isn’t to say tonight doesn’t matter to the Flyers, but this game means more to Florida than it does to us.
Between the Pipes: Martin Biron goes again for the Flyers. No reason to explain why. He’s the guy. Tomas Vokoun will go for the Panthers, but he’s not been that great lately. He’s given up nine goals in his last three games, all losses. He’s 23-22-6 on the year.
Questions To Answer
- Does Briere keep up his scoring pace?
- Can the power play continue to shine?
- Does Florida play like the desperate team they are?
- A Scott Hartnell hat trick? How awesome would that be?
Go Villanova. Go Flyers.
