Game 3 notes: Carter likely to play, Pronger out again

He’s officially a game-time decision, but it looks as though Jeff Carter will play tonight, according to all the reports out of the morning skate in Boston. He definitely doesn’t look 100 percent and seems a little slow, according to what everybody is saying, so he might only see limited action in Game 3.

Still, a Jeff Carter at 60 percent is better than a Jody Shelley or a Zac Rinaldo at 100 percent, so it’s good news that he’s getting ready to come back. Chris Pronger, on the other hand, didn’t skate today and likely won’t play tonight. Sucks.

Brian Boucher should be in net again tonight — or, at least, there haven’t been any indications to the contrary. Adam McQuaid likely won’t play for the Bruins after he self-sabotaged in Game 2, and CSNNE.com is reporting that Shane Hnidy will be filling in for him on the B’s blueline. Downgrade?

Either way, we know the Bruins are beatable on defense. It’s just Tim Thomas we have to worry about.

Oh, and it’s JvR’s birthday. So, you know.
