The Flyers carry a three-game win streak into Tampa Bay tonight, where they’ll take on the Lightning. They’ll do it without Shayne Gostisbehere on the blue line, who will sit in the press box and watch Brandon Manning take his spot on the ice, according to reports this morning.
We’ll get into that more at some point, surely, but for now, I think we can all agree that if Ghost is going to be a healthy scratch, they shouldn’t even bother keeping him with the Flyers. The Phantoms had a game last night and could’ve used him, and they have games this weekend too.
That said, if Ghost is back in for the next game in his native South Florida against the Panthers, no sweat. Presumably that’ll depend on how Manning and the Flyers defense perform tonight against the Lightning.
Former Bolt Vincent Lecavalier is still out of the lineup with injury, so he won’t play in the Flyers only visit to Tampa Bay this season. Ray Emery gets the start in goal yet again for the Flyers, because why not. The rest of the lineup aside from the Manning-for-Ghost swap remains the same.
The Lightning will start Ben Bishop in goal this evening vs. the Flyers. They’re a pretty dang good hockey team, sitting at 6-3-1. They’re among the league leaders in goals per game, power play percentage and penalty kill percentage. They’re a well-rounded hockey team and just as the Flyers did against Los Angeles the other night, they’re going to need a strong performance this evening to come out on top against the Lightning.
