Flyers vs. Islanders: Preview, lineup, TV, live stream info, and discussion thread

It’s a Wednesday in September and the band is breaking up. In what will be their third and fourth games against the Islanders during camp, the Flyers will split their squad tonight, sending half up to the Barclays Center, with the other making their annual appearance in the Lehigh Valley.

The Flyers have been relatively quiet over the past week, making few cuts to the roster. After Monday’s cuts the roster sits at 55 players.

With Sunday’s game serving to evaluate both the prospects who are closest to earning roster spots and the veterans who remain on the bubble, tonight’s match ups provide the chance to have a look at, well, pretty much everyone. We can expect that all of those whose positions are still in the balance will be working hard to make their case and be noticed, but be sure to look out for defensemen Travis Sanheim and Philippe Myers, who, after making some costly mistakes in Sunday’s game on Long Island, will look to redeem themselves and get back on track.

The Flyers have announced that Nolan Patrick and Shayne Gostisbehere will be sent up to Allentown for the game at the PPL Center. The game in Brooklyn could definitely be considered the “B” team, with only a handful of NHL-bound players on the Flyers roster.

Below are the rosters for both games.
