The Flyers are back in action tonight after a week off, and Claude Giroux will be joining them for his preseason debut. He’s by all accounts recovered from his offseason hand injury, suffered when he showed a golf club that he’s the boss, and he’ll be in the lineup tonight against the New Jersey Devils.
Claude is playing with Jakub Voracek and Scott Hartnell, his expected line mates once the regular season begins, and you’ll notice that the entire Flyers lineup has a pretty opening night feel to it. The full lineup hasn’t been announced just yet, but other than Michael Raffl and Scott Laughton, the roster is fully devoid of young players up front.

Ray Emery starts in goal for the Flyers. Jaromir Jagr, who believe it or not is a paid employee of the New Jersey Devils now, won’t be in their lineup.
There are just three preseason games left including tonight, so the performance in these three games, which will mostly be against regular NHLers on opposing squads, should determine who makes the opening night roster. Be on the lookout for Raffl and Laughton up front tonight, as well as basically everybody not named Timonen, Streit, Schenn or Coburn on the blueline.
You’ll be able to watch this one anywhere in America tonight. TCN in the Delaware Valley, NHL Network everywhere else.
