Braydon Coburn is still a Philadelphia Flyer. According to various reports, he’s signed a two-year, $6.4 million deal with the team. With a cap hit of $3.2 million, however, it seems like a bit of a hefty payment for him.
The Flyers now have about $2.6 million in cap space to sign Darroll Powe, Dan Carcillo, probably a goalie and still have breathing room in case of injury issues during the season. It’s hard to imagine that something else is cooking, because that’s just not enough money for what the Flyers need to do.
With Andrej Meszaros and Coburn on defense, the Flyers have a very expensive blueline. At the same time, they have a very good blueline. That’s exciting.
