Vincent Lecavalier will miss two weeks after taking a Mark Streit slap shot off his foot, the Flyers announced this morning.
Lecavalier was seen in a walking boot after the Flyers loss Saturday night against Montreal, in which he suffered the injury. The time line will bring Vinny back into the lineup in time for the October 25 game against Detroit or the October 28 game against Los Angeles. The Flyers might decide to make a call up, but with Blair Jones as the 13th forward they should be able to handle the four or five games without Lecavalier.
In other injury news, prospect defenseman Samuel Morin took a puck to the face in his QMJHL game Sunday with Rimouski. Morin was taken to the hospital after the ugly incident, where it was confirmed he has a fractured jaw. He’ll miss four to five weeks of action.
Nicklas Grossmann will miss Monday’s practice with a (non-Ebola) virus and will presumably be ready to go Tuesday vs. Anaheim.
