PHILADELPHIA (SB Nation Wire Service) — The #Number1HockeyBoy Panel on Friday released its latest rankings of the Number 1 Boy in Hockey. It’s the first installment of the rankings following the 75th anniversary of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Steve Mason, known by the panel as “The Wall”, has been named the Number 1 Hockey Boy for December 9, 2016. Rounding out the Top 3 are forward Claude Giroux, a.k.a. “The Wedding Planner”, and forward Wayne Simmonds, a.k.a. “Crazy Train.”
In a surprise showing, the Number 8 Hockey Boy honor this week has been awarded to defenseman Andrew MacDonald, a.k.a. “404 Error.” The panel chairperson has informed all citizens to purchase lottery tickets in the aftermath of this unlikely event. Another notable standout selection belongs to Brandon Manning, a.k.a. “Connor’s Dad.” He was named Number 7 Hockey Boy.

All hockey boys receiving votes are members of the Philadelphia Flyers organization.
The #N1HB Panel, which consists of Top Women And Men from the hockey analysis community, will continue to evaluate Hockey Boys and will meet weekly for the remainder of the season to review game action. The panel is are expected to issue new rankings each week.
