Danny Briere’s injured, and it looks like he’s going to miss the first week or so of the 2013 season with a hurt wrist. That’s what he told reporters in Voorhees today, anyway.

It’s a bone bruise on his left wrist, and considering the lockout is still technically ongoing until both the NHL’s Board of Governors and the NHLPA ratify the new deal, Briere can’t visit with team doctors.
Briere suffered the injury playing over in Germany. All things told, this could be a lot worse, and it’s not like he’ll need training camp as much as some of the guys who haven’t been playing during the lockout. He’s already in game shape. The Flyers can certainly get by for three or four games without him.
