Claude Giroux was reportedly arrested in Ottawa Tuesday night after “an incident involving a police officer,” the Ottawa Sun reports this morning.
Although few details were immediately available, a source said Giroux was arrested for repeatedly grabbing the buttocks of a male police officer. Alcohol is believed to have been involved.
The incident occurred at a bar in the Byward Market the source said.
Of course alcohol was involved. It was Canada Day.
We called Ottawa Police and they said it’s policy not to confirm or deny an arrest “unless charges are laid.”
Claude’s been to this bar, The Great Canadian Cabin, before. In fact, he’s been behind the bar before.
Softest hands in the league. Good luck to our boy and All-Star Guest Bartender @28CGiroux #bringithome #stanleycuppints pic.twitter.com/R81YIoUs
