Adam Hall claimed off waivers by Flyers; Kurtis Foster clears

Adam Hall has had a busy month. After being placed on waivers by the Tampa Bay Lightning in March, he was claimed by the Carolina Hurricanes, with which he played in six games. Earlier this week, he was traded back to the Lightning and then placed on waivers. Today, the Flyers claimed him. The team announced the claim.

Hall has played in nearly 600 NHL games. He’s a bottom-six forward who can kill penalties and take faceoffs. Nothing special, but he can fill Max Talbot’s role as a stop gap for the rest of the season.

More than anything else, Hall’s acquisition probably indicates that the Flyers aren’t expected to be busy on this deadline day. He represents the 50th contract on their reserve list, meaning they’d have to move a player out before taking an extra player on via trade.

Defenseman Kurtis Foster was placed on waivers yesterday and cleared today, according to CBC’s Elliotte Friedman, because of course he did.
