The Flyers have recalled defenseman Danny Syvret from the Adirondack Phantoms. He’ll likely be in New Jersey tonight, but he’s just there for extra help. Don’t expect him to enter the lineup.
It’s more than likely that Syvret will just stick around a few games as a seventh defenseman, just as Erik Gustafsson did for a few games of the West Coast trip. The defense has been troubled of late, despite a fine game on Sunday in Detroit, so it’ll be interesting to see if they have a weak performance in one of the next few games if Syvret gets a chance.
Would prefer to see him on the road, since he’s scored both of his goals as a Flyer when the team wore the Winter Classic whites last year…
