There’s a Game 7 tonight, and that’s awesome because it doesn’t involve the Philadelphia Flyers. No heart attacks for us! Hooray! But tonight’s Game 7 between the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins does involve us.
Should the Capitals win, it’ll end the Flyers’ chances of playing either the New York Rangers or Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. It’ll leave the team with an equal chance of playing Florida, Washington, New Jersey or Ottawa in the next round, depending on how the other two Game 7’s tomorrow night play out.
Should the Bruins win, it’ll end the Flyers’ chances of playing either the Capitals or Senators in the Conference Semifinals, leaving them with an equal chance of playing Boston, New York, New Jersey or Florida.
So when choosing a team to root for this evening, you have to ask yourself a pretty basic question: Would you rather play Ottawa or Washington, or would you rather play Boston or New York? Pretty simple answer there. Go Caps Go.
