The Philadelphia Flyers were back home after a thrilling win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stadium Series with a tilt against the Buffalo Sabres. The Orange and Black were playing their first game without Wayne Simmonds in what seems like an eternity, but they would not disappoint.

Newcomer Ryan Hartman made his presence early, leveling a skater and drawing a penalty. He set the table and make a great impression on the fan base. Oskar Lindblom opened the scoring with his 12th goal of the season. Jake Voracek would follow up with one of his own to give the Flyers a 2-1 lead after one period of play.

The Flyers would take a 3-2 lead into the third period after a James van Riemsdyk goal, but Brian Elliott stood tall and gave his team enough time to cushion the lead and cruise to a 5-2 victory. Travis Sanheim and Claude Giroux would put the game away in the third and sent the fans home happy with another win.

The Flyers return to action on Thursday in Columbus as they begin a three-game road trip to begin March.
