Just last week, the Flyers were talking about skate guards and how important they are to protect players while blocking shots.
Now, thanks to another puck hitting a foot, the Flyers will be without top-line winger Michael Raffl for six weeks. Just a terrible blow to a criminally underrated player on this team, a key piece of that top line so far this season.

Chris VandeVelde will replace Raffl on the top line, which …. well, we’ll have more on that later. Here’s where Raffl suffered the injury during the third period of Tuesday night’s game:
