The Philadelphia Flyers didn’t make many moves on the opening day of free agency Wednesday, but it’s been a busy week. So how are they looking against the salary cap?
Since our last update of this salary cap chart on June 23, here’s what’s happened:
Subtract …
- Nicklas Grossmann and Chris Pronger are officially off the team’s payroll, traded to the Arizona Coyotes. (The Flyers did retain $500,000 of Grossmann’s salary, as reflected below.)
- Zac Rinaldo was traded to the Boston Bruins.
Add …
- Sam Gagner was acquired in the trade with Arizona.
- Ryan White and Chris VandeVelde were signed to contract extensions with the team.
- Michal Neuvirth signed with the team on July 1.
To be determined …
- Michael Del Zotto has yet to sign a contract. He will. He is a restricted free agent.
- Brandon Manning is on a one-way contract with the organization, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be sent to the AHL. (It simply means his salary is the same in both leagues.) We’ll add him to the chart in training camp if he indeed makes the team.
