That was a gigantic win for the Philadelphia Flyers last night, and with a Hurricanes loss, a Devils loss and a Penguins loss in the last two nights, things are looking up for the Flyers right now.
And just in time for Saturday afternoon’s game against the Arizona Coyotes, it looks like the captain could be back.

The Flyers have played a pair of very good hockey games this week without their captain, and that’s a good sign. But look: the power play, for one, revolves around Claude Giroux. It’s not necessarily shocking that Giroux went out of the lineup and Shayne Gostisbehere’s point streak abruptly ended a game later. He is the best player, and they need him back ASAP if they want a realistic shot at the postseason.
He is the engine that makes the Flyers go, and getting him back in the lineup for a stretch of upcoming games against weak opponents that the Flyers absolutely need to capitalize on … well, that’d just be huge.
