The Philadelphia Flyers were back in action against the Toronto Maple Leafs, clinging to their very slim playoff hopes. It needs to be a win-out situation for the Orange and Black and they certainly took a step in that direction on Wednesday evening.

Toronto got out to an early lead, but thanks to goals from Travis Konecny, Radko Gudas, and Sean Couturier, the Flyers dominated in the second period and went into the third with a lead. The game would head to overtime, where a Travis Sanheim goal was nullified because of the “intent to blow” rule, which meant they would head to the dreaded shootout.

Carter Hart stopped every shot he faced and Couturier saved the day, once again, giving the Flyers a 5-4 win over the Maple Leafs. They return to action on Saturday in Carolina.
