The Lehigh Valley Phantoms defeated the Hershey Bears 3 to 2 in an overtime victory. Mikhail Vorobyev was first to find the back of the new with a beautiful short handed goal in the first period. During the second, the Phantoms were able to tie it up thanks to Greg Carey. After a lot of pushing and shoving Kurtis Gabriel and the Hershey Bear’s Kale Kessy dropped the gloves and put on a show for the PPL Center. After a tough 60 minutes the Phantoms and Bears went into overtime. When everyone at the PPL Center was getting ready for a shootout, Andy Welinski scored with only 32 seconds left in OT for a 3-2 Phantoms win!
The Phantoms start a weekend road trip on Wednesday against the Springfield Thunderbirds and are back home at the PPL center on November 20th. Check out the best photos of last night’s game from Casey Liberatore featuring Morgan Frost, Nic Aube-Kubel, and Alex Lyon.
