Travis Konecny is an NHL All-Star

Philadelphia Flyers points leader Travis Konecny has been named to the 2020 NHL All-Star team. Konecny leads the Flyers in points with 34 (11 G, 23 A). He had this to say about the honor:

“I didn’t expect it, especially with some of the names that we have on our team, I didn’t expect them to pick me,” said Konecny. “It’s something that you don’t really think about until it happens. When you make the NHL, that’s one of the first steps and you want to be successful and win the Stanley Cup with your team, but you never really think of making the All-Star Game. Now that it’s come up, it’s pretty amazing and I have a lot of people to thank for it.”

There is the possibility of Claude Giroux joining him. For the second straight season, the NHL will allow fans to select four players from a list of 31 All-Star caliber players–one from each NHL team (determined by the League’s Hockey Operations Department) – as part of the 2020 NHL All-Star Last Men In. The highest vote-getters by division then will be added to their respective All-Star rosters.

Voting for the Last Men In opens Wednesday, Jan. 1, at 12 p.m. ET and closes Friday, Jan. 10, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans will be permitted to select as few as one player and a maximum of four players per ballot. The maximum number of ballots cast per 24-hour period for each fan is 10. You can cast your votes here.

Congratulations TK!
