My god is this team bad. Twenty five shots and zero goals against a netminder making his first career start after five seasons in the AHL. A true Flyers fan would have only one reaction to this though: “Of course!”
The orange and black have (finally!) passed the halfway point of the season and did so in whatever the opposite of style is, losing 3-0 to the St. Louis Blues, a team with which the Flyers had been tied with at 36 standing points coming into the evening. So if this was a Lose For Hughes battle, or a Krappo For Kakko contest, the FlyGuys came out well ahead, I guess.
Anyway, Carter Hart looked pretty good, stopping 34 of the 36 shots he faced. Everyone else stunk. For further analysis, listen to the postgame reaction, which was live on the Broad Street Hockey Facebook immediately following the “action.”
