Wednesday Morning Fly By: Kelly Hinkle has quit

* Horrible news, but Kelly Hinkle has quit writing the Fly By here at Broad Street Hockey. We’re pretty bummed about it, but we understand and will miss her. We’re looking for her replacement.

* The Flyers are in Pittsburgh tonight to take on the Penguins. 8 pm, NBCSN, #RivalryNight, etc. The Flyers have won like a billion straight games at Consol Energy Center.

* They’re excited about it, even though they are awful at hockey. Beating Pittsburgh always matters. [CSN]

* They’re also excited about the World Championships! Because that’s kind of like the playoffs except nobody watches it. [CSN]

* Steve Mason won’t be going to the Worlds, though. He’s going to rest his knee. [BSH]

* Finally, somebody else says it: Craig Berube is totally mishandling the offensive development of Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn. [Daily News]

* Jay Rosehill was suspended three games by the AHL. [BSH]

* Alex Ovechkin hit 50 goals last night. He is really something special. [Japers’ Rink]

* Drew Miller of the Red Wings + skate to face = this horrifying picture. [Winging It In Motown]

* Good lord, Dustin Byfuglien. Calm the f down. [Blueshirt Banter]

* The Panthers have a job listing out for a “Non-Traveling Jagr.” … (somebody should tell them they have one on their roster already…) [Panthers]

* The Las Vegas NHL group has surpassed 10k ticket sales and are looking from more from casinos and other business groups. Looks more and more like this is happening … [ESPN]
