2015 Philadelphia Flyers training camp will open September 17 in Voorhees

The Philadelphia Flyers will open their 2015 training camp at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees on Thursday, September 17. Head coach Dave Hakstol made the announcement Thursday at the team’s development camp in Voorhees.

Hakstol also announced that the entire camp will remain in Voorhees, unlike in previous years when the team has taken trips to places like the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.

The Flyers begin the preseason on September 21 with split-squad games against the Islanders — one in Allentown at PPL Center and one in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. The Flyers host three exhibition games at Wells Fargo Center against the Devils, Islanders and Rangers. Preseason wraps on Friday, October 2 in New Jersey. Here’s the full schedule.

The regular season begins Thursday, October 8 in Tampa with a game against the Lightning. The home opener is Monday, October 12 against the Florida Panthers. Here’s the full regular season schedule.

The schedule for the team’s rookie camp — which usually precedes training camp by a week or so — will be announced at a later date.
